DECEMBER 2015 FMQ Challange

I will be linking up with QuiltShopGal  http://quiltshopgal.com/2015-free-motion-quilting-challenge-december-challenge-with-wendy-sheppard-and-grand-prize-info/
The months instructor was Wendy Sheppard, she has been a instructor in the past and has on line classes as well as being featured in magazines.
I tried doing the Swirly Vines  with my snowflake as that is how the snowflakes fall with the wind swirling them around. It turned out okay and I have a cute pillow just in time for the Christmas season.

On the back I played with trying to stitch a bit of a winter scene, all tone on tone so it does not stand out but the quilting helps to give the pillow nice body.
I changed how I took the picture to give the quilting
 a chance to show up

Thanks for stopping by and remember to check out what the other pillow look like this month.
Thanks to Darlene for hosting this challenge again this year it is always fun to learn along with all of you.
And a little non quilting today...... the fudge my Mom used to make years ago. It is a fudge with some flour in it.
one for home and a little one to gift away.

Have a sweet evening

I am in the Christmas post card swap hosted by Sheila from Sheila's Quilt World.
My first post card arrived form Jeaneke in The Netherlands,
and then she also enclosed this little guy.... pretty sweet  :0)

I have also received the post card from Ana in Portugal one of her first cards..... I think it turned out
great ( this post was started a week ago and now I have them both :0) and the photos are uploaded )

I have been stitching up a storm over the last week or sew.
I have finished 3 quilts for  Victoria Quilts

Made a Christmas runner for my Prayer Partner

I have made a couple of gifts ( pics to follow I do not want to spoil the surprise)/
I have signed up for a couple more craftsy classes and have started to watch one of them. Shoule keep me busy and finding some play time with my machine.

Oh and another item in the mail was a book on bed runners from the Free Motion Quilt 2015 challenge.more projects on the to do list.... could be very busy in 2016.
And even a little knitting, made one for our daughter and now just knitting up some wool I have here at home and who know maybe even one for me
I changed up the pattern on the left one
I think it turned out just fine..
Sew there has been a lot to keep me  busy. I love time of year.
We try to get sew much done and some of it last minute but we have to keep in mind that if it dose not get done that's okay to as we tend to over book ourselves with items we want to do.
Just have fun at what ever you are working on. Happy stitching in the weeks to come.

post cards - Seasons Greetings

Well the weather here in the prairies has a definite feel of winter, and Christmas is less than a month away.
I was impressed with how fast my post cards made it to their different points of new homes.
They all arrived within a day or two of the other and that is something with them going across the country to Nova Scotia and then one to The  Netherlands and one to Portugal.
opps I see that I took the photos before adding the finishing touches of a little embroidery and a small ribbon

I will post the ones I receive as they arrive.
the little collection of ornaments hanging in the evergreen boughs
Have a great weekend

Halloween Haunts 2015

Halloween Haunts 2015

Wed. October 28 ..... the last day of the hop.....

First off I would like to thank Marian at Seams to be Sew for hosting the blog hop I know that we have missed them. She also has the gadget that you can enter in for the give away from The Fat Quarter Shop. One entry per site that you left a comment at.  ( I see that I am not the only one that is not sure how to get this on my post ) Now for my project ....

What's in your Attic this Halloween
This year I  taught a classes with a Attic window block. It is a quick and easy block done with only one seams and has little flaps for little fingers to play with.

fabric selection
Sew that I can get the samples made
cut and sew the triangles to make the blocks
this little trick sews up into a treat of a block

double checking the borders

the same but a little different
smaller sample for class.
Here is the finished pillow from that sample, I had some fun quilting on the back of the pillow ... some say it now has 2 fronts.

And for the sample worked on in class as well

Sure looks different from the first one I made.
I found the pattern over here at   QuiltBug.com  Look for "Spiders in Your Attic" . Who granted permission to use her pattern in the classroom. Always remember to ask permission...... quilters tend to have generous hearts. Thanks again.
And lastly a little tote for a little sweetie next door for her trick and treating.

Thanks for haunting along with me through the hop.
Here is the list of blog hops for today ......
The Fat Quarter Shop is giving a $25.00 gift certificate for each day of this hop, You can enter at any of the featured sites of the day. Marian our host from Seams To Be Sew will announce the winner daily, and it will also be featured on any of the blogs that featured the giveaway entry for that featured day.
